The Ohio Minority Engineering Student Scholarship Program OMESSP-Logosponsored in conjunction with CT Consultants, Inc., The Ohio Legislative Black Caucus (OLBC), National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE), and New Visions Group provides Financial Assistance and Possible Internship Opportunities to minority students enrolled in a civil engineering program at an accredited Ohio College or University.

Program Highlights

The Ohio Minority Engineering Student Scholarship Program includes:

  • Four (4) $2,500.00 scholarships will be awarded each year
  • Students can maintain multi-year scholarships if they continue to fulfill program requirements
  • Recipients may be eligible for internship and mentoring opportunities
  • The program will be marketed to accredited Ohio Colleges and Universities with engineering programs

Program Requirements

To be eligible for this scholarship program, applicants must:

  • Be an African American student enrolled in an accredited Ohio College or University civil engineering program
  • Freshman Students must be declared as an Engineering Major and have a cumulative High School GPA of a 3.0 at the time of selection and maintain at least a 2.5 during the holding of Scholarship
  • Upper-class Students must maintain at least a 2.5 GPA at time of selection and during holding of scholarship
  • Maintain reasonable standard of conduct, as defined by the Ohio Minority Student Scholarship Program selection Committee, expected of scholarship students
