CT Consultants prepared traffic signal plans for the upgrade of twelve (12) traffic signals and the removal of two (2) existing traffic signals along Detroit Avenue. The work included traffic signal warrants and removal analyses, mast arm installations, pole-mounted controllers, loop and video detection, pedestrian devices, radio interconnect, ground-mounted signs and pavement markings.
Coordinated timing schemes were designed using traffic coordination and simulation software. Due to the proximity of other traffic signal improvement projects including the Detroit Avenue Phase II signal upgrade and the Clifton Avenue signal upgrade, several timing and phasing schemes were necessary as part of this project. Special designs for the decorative signal supports were required due to the conflict between the pole-mounted controllers and the decorative bases. CT coordinated this project with the Ohio Department of Transportation.
