The City of Avon previously had one existing 750,000 gallon elevated storage tank servicing the community and desired to add an additional tank to the system in response to growth and development within the City.
CT Consultants provided planning, design and construction services to the City of Avon for the construction of a new elevated storage tank situated on the northeast corner of the Center Road (S.R. 83) and Mills Road intersection. The project includes the replacement of an existing Pressure Reducing Valve and a new Pressure Reducing Valve. CT Consultants prepared documents for alternate tank designs for either a steel fluted column style tank or a composite elevated tank. The tank features include a fill/drain dual pipe system, altitude valves for the existing Detroit Road tank, Chlorine residual analyzers, condensate ceiling or drop ceiling, level monitoring and telemetry including SCADA, cathodic protection, and tank mixing system.
The site for the new tank is adjacent to residential homes. CT Consultants’ landscape architects developed conceptual and final landscape design plans for the development of a landscape screen including the preparation of specifications for landscape and fence materials. Additional site work including grading, stormwater drainage and water quality retention basin, driveway and parking and security fencing was also provided.
