A detailed analysis through computer modeling of the City of Conneaut’s distribution system was performed. This information was utilized to evaluate the optimal location, size and height of an elevated storage tank to replace two existing standpipes. The standpipes were aging, required significant maintenance, and were detrimental to water quality.
A new 300,000 gallon elevated tank and new distribution piping was designed as the result of the analysis. The tank was sited at an existing Ohio Department of Transportation service outpost which required coordination with ODOT during planning, design, and construction of the facility.
