Chagrin Falls, OH
The new office building site for Cawrse & Associates developed the land in a sustainable manner using environmental sensitivity, specifically using LEED principals. Restoring and retaining the natural systems through a design conscientious of natural features was a key point in the project vision. Because of this approach, the Chagrin River Watershed Partners awarded the project a grant to help defray the cost of the proposed porous pavers, rain garden, and bio-swale.
Not only does the project make stormwater connections, but also the location of the new building maximized open space through infrastructural connections to the nearby development. The majority of the open space was intended to remain naturalized and wase enhanced by plantings in the bio-swale and basin.
