Wheeling Wastewater System Improvements – Phase II

CT Consultants worked with the City of Wheeling on the implementation of the Phase II Wastewater System Improvements which are required due to the need to replace aging infrastructure and the need to comply with Combined Sewer Overflow (CSO) Long Term Control Planning (LTCP) requirements.  

The Phase II Improvements result in the reduction of CSO discharge locations from 79 to 59 and remove several sources of stormwater from the combined sewer system.  Additionally, critical wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) equipment that has reached the ed of useful design life has been replaced.  A result of the project is an improvements to the hydraulic conditions in the sanitary sewer system and increased reliability of treatment equipment.  A summary of the Phase II improvements includes:
